Frequently asked questions
How do I add items?
Tap “Add”, choose “Type it in”, enter a name and save. Location, quantity, unit, date (best-before or use-by), memo and photo are all optional. There is no limit on the number of items. After that, just tap “Used” or “Bought” to change the quantity; items running low go onto the shopping list automatically.
How does barcode entry work?
Tap “Add” and choose “Scan barcode” (Uchistock Pro). The first time you scan a barcode, give it a name once; from then on, scanning is all it takes. Barcodes are remembered on your device and in your iCloud — no product database is used. If the camera isn’t available, you can type the number printed under the barcode.
How do I add several items from a photo?
Tap “Add” and choose “From a receipt or label photo” (Uchistock Pro). The text is read on your device and the item names and dates it finds are listed on a confirmation screen. Check them, correct anything if needed, then add them. Photos are not saved or sent.
How do I share with my family?
Go to Settings > “Family sharing” > “Invite family” and send the invitation by Messages or email. The person who starts the share needs Uchistock Pro, but invited family members join and edit for free — they don’t need to buy anything. They open the link on an iPhone signed in to iCloud and join in Uchistock. No sign-up is needed, and shared data is stored in the iCloud of the person who started the share. To manage invitations or stop sharing, use “Invite or manage people”; members can leave from “Members / leave”.
How do I restore my purchase?
Signed in with the Apple Account you used to buy, go to Settings > “See Uchistock Pro” > “Restore purchase”. It’s a one-time purchase, so you won’t be charged again.
How do I back up, or move to a new iPhone?
If you are signed in to iCloud on your iPhone, your data is backed up to your own iCloud automatically, for free. On a new iPhone, sign in with the same Apple Account and install Uchistock; your data will sync. In the App’s Settings, check that “iCloud backup” shows “On”. Data will not sync if iCloud is turned off for Uchistock in the iPhone Settings app > your name > iCloud.
I don’t get alerts
Check that notifications are allowed in the iPhone Settings app > Notifications > Uchistock, and that a Focus isn’t silencing them. In the App, Settings > “Date alerts” shows whether alerts are on, the time, and how many days before you’ll be notified. Alerts are only for items that have a date, and items due on the same day are grouped into one notification.
How do I delete my data?
To delete a single item, open it and tap “Delete item” (its history stays in Insights). To delete everything, deleting the App removes the data on your device; to delete iCloud data, go to the iPhone Settings app > your name > iCloud > Manage Storage > Uchistock. If you are sharing with family, stop sharing or leave the share first. Because we have no access to your data, we can’t delete it for you.
What’s the difference between “best before” and “use by”?
“Best before” is the date until which food is at its best quality; “use by” is the date until which it is safe to eat. You can choose one for each item. Displays and alerts are guidance based on the date you enter, so always check the package and the food itself.
Can I keep using it for free?
Yes. There is no limit on items or history, and the core features — adding items, date display and alerts, the shopping list, iCloud backup and more — stay free. Uchistock Pro is a one-time purchase that adds faster entry, sharing and insights.
